Lhasa Apso dog breed is truly an animal that has a place in history woven amongst ancient myths and legends. Bred almost two thousand years ago the Lhasa Apso originates from the mystical, mountainous country of Tibet.

Lhasas Apso were originally kept exclusively by nobility and holy men of Tibet, and lived in Potala, the monastery and place of Dalai Lama and its surrounding monasteries. The Lhasa Apso dog breed was used as watchdogs to alert the inhabitants of the monasteries when danger approached and was also prized as a companion dog due to there loyal and loving nature. They were also seen as a sign of good luck and were regarded by Buddhists as being reincarnated holy men who did not reach Nirvana.

 

Behaviour: This dogs are very brave friendly loyal and stubborn. Intelligent and full of life. Suspicious of strangers.

 

Coat: Long hair can be cut to chosen lengths, different colours.

 

Care: Long haired Lhasa need care daily brushing. Dogs of this breed don’t need long daily walks can live in the flat but prefer free run.
